The Tarot
The use of divination to obtain guidance and wisdom has been with humankind for time immemorial. The origins of the Tarot have been hotly debated, but we know that it has been used by both high and low society initially as a form of entertainment. The Tarocchi decks of antiquity were not only used to tell stories but functioned as playing cards as well. Eventually, magicians and occultists of the Victorian era began to use it to perform divination, seeking knowledge of the unknown via metaphysical means. Today, tarot is commonly portrayed as a caricature of the science it once was, in favor of fortune telling. Still, the use of it as a method of psychological therapy and spiritual guidance has begun to return. The writings of scholars and philosophers like Carl Jung and Manly P Hall have sparked a rebirth in the interest in tarot, astrology, and other occult studies.
The Tarot contains color correspondences and forms that are archetypal and embedded in our DNA.
When the rods and cones of our eyes digest these forms, our brain attributes meanings that we know are inherently profound. When we divinate, it is in many ways similar to a form of prayer. And while others may be comfortable seeking guidance through religions, sometimes we need something more tangible. Tarot is the marriage of kinesthetic and visual learning. It gives us something we can see and digest and something we can feel and use.
Tarot Readings
1
Three Card Spread
A three card spread gives us a consolidated look at the querant's question through the trinity method. This can be interpreted as representing either past-present-future, thought-feeling-action, significator - path 1- path 2, etc. This is a simple reading that is great for simple, "yes-no" closed answer questions.
